Ayurveda (Sanskrit for “knowledge for long life”) — is a system of traditional Vedic medicine. It is considered to be an additional Veda (Upaveda) to Atharvaveda. Traditionally, Dhanvantari, the avatar of Vishnu was the founder of Ayurveda. Ayurveda considers a man as an integral part of the Universe, with which he always interrelates. Only a man in harmony with the Universe can live long not suffering from any diseases. Lots of herbs are used in Ayurveda.
