Navaratri (Sanskrit for “nine nights”) — is a sacred festival of Hinduism devoted to the nine persons of the Great Mother. Nine days and nights of the festival symbolize the battle between the Divine Mother and the demons. The great victory of good over evil is celebrated on the tenth day. The date of the festival is determined in accordance with Hindu calendar.
