Rishis – are the sages and hermits in Hindu tradition, to whom the sacred Vedic hymns were transferred by Gods. The term is more often referred to the seven sages, though their number and names can differ. Here are several of them: Valmiki, Vyasa, Manu, Agastya, Narada, etc.
