Q: What are the duties of a disciple in relationships between a guru and a disciple? In the literature it is described that every word of the guru must be obeyed: if he says to jump from a mountain, a disciple has to jump without any doubt — which is may be it is difficult to comprehend with the western mind. What are the duties?

A: The main basis of relationship is that you have to practice whatever your guru teaches, to follow his instructions exactly and practice it with utmost sincerity- that is the principle. And if you are not paying enough respect or guru is not commanding enough respect that means you will not respect his teachings also. Respect your guru, love your guru, follow whatever he is teaching you. He has been through most of the experiences that’s why he is a guru.
